Ice climbing in Iran close to Tehran ,

With several heavy snow falls and freezing temperature , The Ice falls in Iran will be in good shape in the following month . There are many different places for ice climbing in Iran but I’ve listed some of the most famous one here :
Hamellon Ice climbing school : This school is located in Roodbar-e-Ghasran and after Fasham village toward Shemshak village . This nice Icefall is artificial and prepared by a school by using water pipes to the top of the rock . Hamellon is a great place for Top rope , Lead and all other kind of ice climbing also drytooling in winter time .

Khor Valley : Located on the road from Karaj to Chalous and on the road from Khozenkola to Khor village . Khor is a winter village on the area which has a small ski resorts and lots of icefalls on the area . By a 20 mins trekking , it’s possible to reach 4 amazing waterfalls which are the main icefalls and by another half an hour trekking, 3 more fabulous icefall appears . The ice falls are from 15 to 70 meters high and they have lots of options to climbs . There are few Dry tooling routes available as well in the area . The area could be in danger of avalanche in case of heavy fresh snow .
There are some other icefalls in other valleys in the area .
Nava : Nava is a multipitch icefall around 130 meters high which located in front of Damavand summit. It’s located on the way to Nava village and it has strong Ice up to WI6 . Nava is the longest available icefall close to Tehran .
