Baraghan has 2 zones . Zone A is very close to main road and mostly consists of caves so the routes are quite harder and away from few routes , should expect hard routes . Zone B is more flexible and has slab climbing as well so there are more easy routes on this zone but also 20 mins walk from the main road .
From Tehran-Qazvin highway , ( 20 Kms passed from Karaj ) , there is an exit road to Kordan area . Driving from several villages , you reach to Baraghan village . Around 500 meters before Baraghan , there is another road which is going to Sorheh village . Follow the route to reach to the location on the map. The caves are clear from the routes . Car could be parked close to the road but be careful with thieves . There had been some report about robberies in the area . If you descend to the river and then climb up from a narrow short path you reach zone A . If you climb to the north around 15 mins via a track and traverse west for 10 mins , you will reach zone B . Both zone could be seen from the road .

Zone A exposition is North and North east . This zone is ideal for hot summer days as it’s mostly shade till the evening . In winter time , it’s quite cold inside these caves . Zone B exposition is East so it has sun on the wall durin some hours of the day . Zone B normally has more wind in windy days . Both zones located around 1700 meters above sea level so except summer time , should expect some cold hours during the day .
Climbing in Baraghan is only sport climbing . No Trad stuff or multipitch climbing available on this area . The rock is compact and sharp in some routes . In caves there are normally some jugs and pocket holds on the roof but still tough climbing . Zone B has mostly slab climbing .
Never leave a car without enough security on the main road . You could park your car on some places so you could see it from walls . Trekking to Zone A needs to cross the river which is very hard on early spring regarding to the amount of water . There are shops and restaurants on the main road for food .
