Damavand area is one of the most popular area in Iran for Backcountry skiing . Although most skiers join in early spring for back country ski in this area , still it’s possible to try on it in winter . Damavand itself is a huge conical mountain in the area plus the wonderful northfaces around it . Golezard small ( 3400 m ) , Golezard Big ( 3700 ) , Parvaneh ( 3700 ) , Changizchal ( 3900 ) , Angemar ( 4000 ) , Doberar ( 4150 ) , Pashoore ( 3800 ) are the wonderful summits around Damavand to ski on them . More than it , when you get acclimatized by skinning up on these summits , it would be quite wonderful to climb Damavand on 2 days . 1 day to the hut at 4200 m and the other to the summit ( 5610 m ) . Then it would be great to ski all the way down for around 3000 meters vertical difference from the summit to the base . Damavand area could be called the most popular area for spring skiing in Iran .
